Happy 4th friends. I want to start off by saying I hope you all have a fun and safe day. Also don’t forget to be courteous to your neighboring veterans and animals, not everyone enjoys fireworks.
Today I’m keeping my post a bit short, though I do want to brush up on something I have been thinking about a lot recently. Growing up I didn’t realize how important family truly is. I took jamming out to our favorite songs in the car or spending all day in bed binge watching movies together for granted. I spent a lot more time surrounding myself with friends, work, or practically anything else. After being away for a couple years I came to realize just how much I depended on them. Many friends have come and gone with the seasons, yet my family has always been there for me no matter what. I am not going to pretend my family is perfect, we have our differences, we yell, we argue, but most of all we love and care for each other. Living with my sister has reminded me of the bond we once had as children and just how lucky I am that we’re getting to that place again. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for their undying support. Every time I think I can’t go on, they’ve pushed me harder. Every time I fall down, they encourage me to get up. The same things my mom used to get on to me about, which I HATED, I now am so thankful for. Whether it was doing chores, being kinder to my siblings, or doing well in school, I now see how beneficial its been to have these principles instilled in me since day one. Holidays are just a reminder how happy I am to be spending more time with them. Hope you are all able to be doing the same!
Here’s some photos I took of my sister and our pups getting in the holiday spirit!
